The 1029 was developed at about the same time as the 1059 as an exercise in miniaturization.  It has an input impedance of 10K ohms with an output impedance of 500 ohms.  An attenuated recorder output is available.  A 6 volt Mercury battery powered the unit.

Most users opted for the 1059 because of its flexibility.
