The 2020N noise generator acoustically masks room conversation. Either the six internal "AA" Alkaline batteries or an external AC supply power the unit.

TO OPERATE: Rotate the NOISE LEVEL control to approximately three-quarters full range and place the unit 3 to 4 feet from the center of conversation. Talk in a soft voice. Do not try to talk above the noise of the 2020N. Get closer to each other or use the companion 2020A conference communicator.

Operate the unit only for short periods of time when using the internal batteries. Use the AC power supply for prolonged applications. When using the AC adapter, make sure the 110/220 Volt switch on the back is in the proper position. Do not attempt to change the switches on the front.

The 2020N uses 6 "AA" Alkaline batteries. To replace the batteries, remove the two screws from the sides of the unit and carefully lift off the cover. Disconnect the battery holder, properly dispose of the old batteries, insert fresh batteries (making sure they are properly seated) and reconnect the holder. Replace the cover being careful not to pinch the battery wires.

As with any piece of battery operated electronic equipment, remove the batteries during periods of prolonged storage.
